CBI Class of 2005 ● Marymount Manhattan College Class of 2011, Fordham University Class of 2022 ● Supply Chain Pricing Administrator, Part-time Actor
I had the opportunity to have Jon Roure as a college counselor. He was a great role model, and he did a fantastic job helping me and my classmates find the right school for ourselves. One of the last schools we looked at was Marymount Manhattan College, a private school in the city that I ended up attending and graduating from in 2011 with a major in Communication Arts and minor in Business Management. I chose Marymount Manhattan College because I was attracted to the fact that I could gain a good education while being around like-minded creatives.
After high school and before going to college, I took two years to find and explore the things that truly interested me. I decided to pursue acting and was fortunate enough to make long-lasting connections and book jobs in television, film, and commercials, and I kept acting while I was in college. Although my schedule was packed, I was somehow able to make it work. The day after graduation I had to report to set. My entire college experience was kind of like that – busy, always preparing for class or an audition. I still made time to enjoy school and friends but I was on a mission.
Life does not get easier; however, you do get stronger. If all else fails, tell a joke, make a funny video, read a good book, sing, listen to music, go to the gym, pray and spend time with family. These things always help bring joy to my heart and into my life.
I still pursue acting. Occasionally, a project will come up and I will go ahead and do that and then get back to my regular life. I like it that way. The best of both worlds. Some of my notable projects have been commercials for MTV, AD Council, a short stint on the CBS show “Blue Bloods” and most recently an independent film titled “An Essential Delivery” where I play Milo Parker, an outspoken mailman that stands up for what is right.
I also currently work as a Pricing Administrator for a prominent re-distribution company in New York. I have been with the organization for almost five years and in that time, I have learned a lot about the industry and how to best navigate the day-to-day challenges that have been presented to us.
I have been around both great and terrible leadership, so I knew that I wanted to be a great leader and I knew that furthering my education would help me get there. I never thought I would go to graduate school, however, one day I was inspired and wanted to challenge myself. I am now very close to obtaining a Master’s Degree in Management from the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University. My goals are to expand in all the things that I already do. I want to continue growing with the company I currently work at, as well as use my skills to create partnerships with different brands and companies. I also want to work more with young people and be a voice of guidance to those willing to listen.
My parents have always encouraged education and for me to do my best in all that I do. Whether it be academic, professional, or creative, put your all into what you do and that will always lead you to a path of success. Life does not get easier; however, you do get stronger. If all else fails, tell a joke, make a funny video, read a good book, sing, listen to music, go to the gym, pray and spend time with family. These things always help bring joy to my heart and into my life.
Last but not least, I am the father to a beautiful baby boy named Blake whom I love very much along with my fiancé, Giselle. He already makes me proud just by being here. Everything else is just icing on a beautiful cake. My hopes and dreams are that he puts God first, RESPECTS and loves his family… and that he goes to Harvard Business School for undergraduate and graduate school! Other than that, I just want him to be a productive contributor to society…dream big, work hard, and be kind.
