WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington announced strong college outcomes for the Class of 2026 midway through the academic year, with seniors earning 174 college acceptances and securing more than $7.5 million in merit-based scholarships so far.

School leaders say the total number of acceptances and scholarships is expected to continue growing as additional college decisions are released throughout the spring semester.

GLOW said one of the most significant milestones this year belongs to senior Isabella Cross, who became GLOW’s first-ever QuestBridge National College Match recipient. Cross matched with Washington University in St. Louis and received a full four-year scholarship valued at approximately $404,000.

“Isabella’s achievement reflects years of hard work, perseverance, and academic excellence,” said Jahleese Hadley, GLOW’s director of college access. “Her success, and the accomplishments of our senior class, are the result of a collective effort by our families, College Access department, teachers, and staff, all committed to expanding access to higher education.”
