(Em)Power Breakfast 2020

September 16, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 9:00 am EDT

Our 14th annual (Em)Power Breakfast celebrated the resiliency, dedication, and achievements of the more than 10,000 remarkable students of The Young Women’s Leadership Schools (TYWLS) in New York City and the Young Women’s Leadership Network (YWLN) affiliate schools nationwide. In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, our students are determined to achieve their educational goals, and Student Leadership Network will be there to support them, every step of the way.

Thanks to your generosity, as well as the overwhelming support of our sponsors and attendees, we raised nearly $900,000 through this year’s (Em)Power Breakfast. Every dollar raised will go toward powerful in- and out-of-school enrichment programs to deepen TYWLS students’ learning, expose them to career development opportunities, and enhance their leadership skills.

We were thrilled to have Malala Yousafzai share remarks with our graduates, and honor the team of doctors who provided vital health care to the young women from Nigeria who sustained injuries as a result of being held in captivity by Boko Haram.
